When you’re creating content, what is most important: quality or quantity?

The obvious answer is quality because if you’re not creating meaningful content that people actually care about then you are not going to gain any results.

However, you don’t want to get caught up in the details so much that you chose to never post or publish anything. That being said, we find quantity just as important as quality in content marketing.

A key tool to keep in mind when you’re trying to build content quantity is referred to as a deadline. A deadline keeps you and your team on track by forcing you to produce. As much as you want your content to have quality, you also want to consistently put yourself out there which requires pushing things out the door on time.

A great way to do that is to make a schedule (super easy to do in google docs) that reminds you of specific goals you want to hit by certain dates.

Maybe your goal is to share three times per week (that’s great!).Take it a step further and be more specific.

  • What type of content are you going to share?
  • What platform(s) are you going to share it on?
  • What day(s) are you going to upload content?
  • What time(s) are you going to post?

Breaking your goals down piece by piece and taking these steps will set you up to reach your content quantity goals, inevitably reaching your content quality goals. The more you post, the better your content becomes.
